Mary of the people of sea!
On Sunday 30/11/08 the Christmas festivities have "officially begun to Cesenatico!
With the most beautiful and striking holiday the Mayor has lighted the lights of our Crib and of all the illuminations of the city, each year is an emotion, because it goes on the grey November to the thousands of lights of the Christmas!!!
But there is a holiday that I love particularly, it is a December 8, holiday of Immaculate Mary Salus Populi Caesenaticensis.
It is a holiday very much felt to Cesenatico, because Mary Immacolata is the protettrice of the people of sea.
On the front of the church of San Giacomo, there is a little niche with a statue of chalk and terracotta dated 1580 that was up to 1875 on the tower of the watch that it shook in consequence of a terrible earthquake and between the ruins there was found the statue of the intact Vergine.
Since then the sailors and the people of sea completely, venerate it like his protettrice and each year, the door in procession for the city, then with a striking ceremony, a representative of the sailors of rescue, gets on a long staircase, reach the niche and a roses coroncina testifies between his hands.
Not that I am particularly religious, but this holiday moves me and I like to think that the Lady looks it the high one and protects us, then it is just that at least once in the year themselves it carries a little tribute!
I present with you his prayer that is dedicated also to you hold!!
Or Mary!
Or Vergine Immacolata!
You time were sitting in the middle of us
as in Regina's throne
over the public tower.
then our fathers placed You
on the forehead of the greatest Temple acclaiming you
“Salvation of the People of Cesenatico”.
It continues, we pray You,
to protect this devotional land
protecting it against the evils
giocondandola of properties
regenerating it to civic and moral health
lighting it of the brilliance of the justice
of the brightness of the truth and of the charity
of the beauty of the order and of the peace.
You bless our families,
the workers of the land and of the sea,
how many suffer in the body and in the mind,
our hosts.
And you write all in the book of the life …
Amen!
(Mons. A.M.Vespignani Bishop of Cesena 1900)
Let's remember us that the Christmas is, in any case, a religious festivity and if only let's take the opportunity, I endorse the so announced economic crisis, of doing a step back to think of who stà worse than us, less it should present expensive and more smiled and concrete helps.
I wish you a wonderful Christmas!!!!!
