JU JU MEMORIAL 11th EDITION

Julio Capiozzo has been born to Boretto (KING) on February 18 1946.
After having attended the Egyptian Conservatoire of the Cairo, in ‘72 and’ between the members founders of the Area.
Between the 70s and ‘80, to Paris has studied with Kenny Clarke, in ‘78 has studied percussions to Cuba and in 85 it has co-operated with Elvin Jones.
In 86 it has founded a percussions duet with the Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu. It has passed then much time in the Caraibi studying with the Vodoo-Drummers and with Steel Drummers of Trinidad.
Capiozzo dies on August 23 in 2000, picked at attack while it was in a bar of Cesenatico (FC).
On Tuesday on August 23 to the hours 20,00 in Square Spouses of the Sailors, evening to the sign of the music of author dedicated to the great drummer of Cesenatico prematurely disappeared Julio Capiozzo The manifestation organised by Christian Capiozzo in memory of the father Julio, with the defence of the Municipality of Cesenatico and the collaboration of Gesturist Spa, joins this year the eleventh edition.
Julio Capiozzo, founder together with Demetrio Stratos of the historical advanced group of the Area, é esteemed drummer jazz at world and precursory level of a new style.
The Memorial é a musicians' meeting that through sounds, harmonies, improvisations, jam-session, want to remember an artist that, with the rhythm of his battery and the scowl of his drumming it has been able to broadcast passion, energy, love, soul, leaving the indelible memory of a music that for him was a true reason of life, like it é for all those who will get on the box, friends and companions of adventure in the musical interlacement of research and improvisation, always in the centre of the time, as there was loving Capiozzo himself say.
During the evening, the quartet guided by Christian Capiozzo they will alternate to themselves on the box names of great thickness of the view jazzistico nationally and internationally like Ares Tavolazzi (bassista and double-bass player of the Area), accompanied by Massimo Manzi and Simone Lamaida, and, dulcis in fundo, Trilok Gurtu, one of the most well-known percussionists at world level.
